About
At present I am a freelance Cloud
Instructor & Cloud Architect across Google and AWS. Last year I was the
Lead Technical Instructor for a 14-week full time Security AWS ReStart Program.
This included me being Project co-ordinator for the learners overseeing 4
project teams (NDA prevents Disclosure of details).
Following this I was offered between instructing a Contract with the Academy I
trained in and another 12-week ReStart Program as the Lead Instructor for a Cloud
Engineering program. This is my present contract which ends 21st March. I teach
GCP on certain evenings every week and have done for the past 13 months. I am subscribed to Google Developer Program premium
tier (and on GCP Innovator program)
I have a part time evening contract lined up as an instructor for Google Cloud
a couple days a week in the evenings 8-10pm. I am looking to choosing a company
to work for to develop my skills further in either Google or AWS. My aim is to
progress to more senior roles as my skillsets and proficiencies increase.
AWS Solutions Architect
Key Achievements
- Having passed every cloud Exam first time, I’ve Attained
my certificates with no retakes, those being Google Professional Cloud Architect
and CDL, the AWS Solutions Architect Associate with an impressive score of 871
out of 1000, and AWS Developer Associate scoring 824 out of 1000.
- Pioneered a collaborative study group from
scratch, which I have passed on to the students to continue, which had up to 45
students at its peak, fostering a culture of mutual support and innovation.
- Taking the Gold Medal for the first
WorldSkillsUk Cloud Computing Competition (dry run), architecting and building a
project, based on the scenario provided.
Architecture Projects

Big Streamer Project - architecting a complete solution for Streamer company website and video editing in the cloud. Also security solutions due to the company being under DDOS attacks and an internal employee deleting data and causing issues.
Parts store Ecommerce Website - Planning cloud adoption and migrating strategy with solutions for the companies short term analytics goals and current on premise holding back their agility to best analyse their data.
Project demo's coming soon. Including the architecture this website is running on which will soon have an aws solution for analytics added that we are architecting in different ways.
Technical Skills
- As an Instructor I have extensive hands-on experience with deploying and managing
a wide range of Google Cloud & AWS services through hundreds of practical
labs for most Google Cloud & AWS Services from fundamentals of VPC and networking through to areas like Machine learning, Big data, ETL, Migration and CI/CD pipelines.
- Skills that I have & teach in the comprehensive ReStart Program are below. I normally teach a full week per domain apart from Linux as I go into Bash Scripting for SysAdmin Tasks:
- Cloud Foundations (1 week)

- Database Mostly SQL in this week, but also provisioning and connecting to endpoints (1 week)
- DevOps culture and Methodologies including Dev-ops tools like Cloudformation (Agile) When Instructing Goole (Terraform).
- CI/CD Pipelines
- After covering these fundamental skills we then cover 4 weeks pure AWS cloud services, right up to advanced level, including; Well architected tool, Reliability & High Availability, SysOps on AWS, IAM, AWS CLI, Systems Manager, Cloud Formation, Cloud Virtualisation, VPC, Subnet, networking, S3, EFS and other storage, EC2 and AWS container services, Load balancing, Autoscaling, Troubleshooting, security indepth and much more. Too many services to list.

Customer Facing Experience
Bringing customer facing Experience to my role as a Cloud Instructor & Solutions Architecting -
Having been in sales with customer service skills has enabled me to talk to people at all levels and to translate things into simplified terms, as well as talk technical detail. Related skills to Architecting are.
- SImplyfiying explanations of services/product benefits.
- Explaining next steps and progression
- Arranging dates for tasks including teams to do the work (fittings, prep work)
- Calculation customers room sizes and getting the information needed for there flooring prep.
- Assessing the most appropriate products with the customer from discussion.
Managerial Experience
Working as a section manager, I proactively identified recurring challenges faced by the team and devised effective solutions. Collaborating with our developer, I transformed these into solutions for practical software architectures, the developer implementing the conceptual designs aimed at resolving these issues. Through implementing the proposed solutions, we achieved the following benefits:
- Enhanced accuracy in stock control and streamlined auditing processes.
- Improved management of customer meetings and visit schedules.
- Significantly enhanced customer and staff experiences.
- Reduced stress on staff by providing efficient solutions for task management, customer relations, stock control, and auditing.

How my media production experience has benefits to architecting
Media Production - As an Instructor & Cloud Architect, my previous background in media production has equipped me with valuable skills and knowledge. With years of experience as a freelance professional specializing in 3D animation, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of diverse compute in regards to software packages and how usage affects the needs of systems. Building my own computers, I have fine-tuned them to meet the specific needs of various programs, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks to maximize cost-effectiveness and component compatibility. This hands-on experience has given me a deep appreciation for the critical aspects of computing that truly matter.
While I am no longer actively involved in the field of 3D animation, I have continued to leverage my expertise in building 3D architectures for presentations of architectural solutions.
Throughout my career, I have held various roles that have provided me with extensive experience across multiple sectors, contributing to my diverse skill set and ability to adapt to different industry needs.
